A William III West Country silver Trefid Spoon, by Nicholas Browne, makers mark struck three times on stem, reeded rat tail reverse, the finial prick dot engraved with initials and dated 1699, 7½in (19cm) long, approx weight 1.04ozt.
Provenance: from The Charles C Brian Collection. Mr Charles Brian was a born in Plymouth in 1916; he trained as a solicitor and joined his family law practice, C G Brian & Sons. He had a great love of Plymouth and Devon, and amassed a collection of Exeter and Plymouth silver. His particular interest was his collection of early West Country spoons.
